Event description
This course covers advanced technical concepts under the Workers Compensation legislation and provides an in-depth working knowledge of injury and claims management practices.
Content focuses on best practice recovery and return to work considerations, lump sum entitlements, review of employer obligations pursuant to the legislation, discontinuance and reductions, weekly payment reimbursement requests and the dispute resolution process.
LEARNING OUTCOMES
Completion of this course will enable to participants to:
- understand how best to lodge a claim and manage a successful recovery and return to work
- how to determine a claim
- the importance of offering suitable duties and being supportive during the claims process
- a clear understanding of both the workers and employers obligations under the Act
- what benefits an employer can received having a mobile claims specialist and how to engage them
- how a lawful cessation or suspension or termination can be issued
- what occurs during the dispute process.
RECOMMENDED FOR
- participants who have completed the Role of the Return to Work Coordinator course or who possess an in-depth knowledge of the Victorian workers compensation scheme.

ABOUT THE TRAINER
Tania Signorino works as a Learning and Development specialist at EML since 2022 and has worked in the Workers Compensation industry for 17 years in various roles. She has worked in investigations, business development and as a Return to Work Coordinator for a global company managing claims in Victoria and Tasmania.
