Understanding PDA: Virtual Autism MyTime
Event description
MyTime is for parents and caregivers raising a child with disability, developmental delay or autism.
Want to better understand PDA and how to support your autistic child?
Join us for Understanding PDA: Virtual Autism MyTime with psychologist and author Raelene Dundon, as we explore Pathological Demand Avoidance (PDA), a profile of autism that is increasingly recognised yet often misunderstood.
In this session, we’ll look at:
What PDA is and how it may present in children
How it differs from other autism profiles
The challenges and strengths associated with PDA
Approaches that support connection, trust and understanding
This conversation is for parents and carers of neurodivergent children, including those who are exploring or awaiting a diagnosis. Whether PDA is already part of your child’s profile or you’re just beginning to explore it, you’ll gain insight, clarity, and supportive strategies.
During a MyTime session, there is a guided discussion and a space to connect with other families. These discussions offer an opportunity for parents and caregivers to share and learn from each other. The sessions are held online via Zoom.
