W3 Sound & Stillness
Description
Week 3 Into the Resonance Em Caunt |
So far this term we have been making. This week we let ourselves be made upon.
Sound is one of the oldest ways humans have of coming back into relationship with the world. Long before we had words for it, we gathered around drums and voices and the ring of struck metal, and something in the body recognised it as home. A sound immersion draws on that same lineage. You lie down, you close your eyes, and you let waves of tone and vibration move through you. There is nothing to achieve and nothing to get right. Your only task is to breathe and receive.
This evening we drop into that space with Em Caunt. What happens in a room full of resonance is hard to put into language, which is rather the point. The paradox of naming an inner state falls away. The body is given permission to speak its own story without needing to articulate a word of it. For some this arrives as deep rest, a nervous system finally allowed to settle. For others something moves that has been waiting a long time to move. We do not prescribe the experience. We hold the space for it.
This sits at the quiet heart of the term. We have been exploring creativity as connection, and here connection comes to us through the simplest channel there is: vibration meeting a body that already knows how to respond. Something in the space between people softens. Strangers rest inside the same field of sound and are, briefly, no longer strangers. Meaning is not thought into being on an evening like this. It returns as a felt sense of belonging, the moment we are properly in touch with things again.
Come as you are. Bring a willingness to let go a yoga mat and cusion.

A note on prices and sustainability of the program
Our commitment is to make this program accessible to everyone in our community regardless of an individual's financial situation. However we don't want payments to be a barrier to participation in the program, if you are in financial hardship please reach out to Mowana and arrangements can be made.
We also strongly believe that our facilitators who dedicate their lives to their crafts should be fairly compensated for their services. If you can afford more than the minimum ticket price, your generosity will contribute to the program's ongoing sustainability.
Tickets for good, not greed Humanitix dedicates 100% of profits from booking fees to charity
