Watercolor 101: Painting the Blue Ridge Mountains!

Price $100 USD + BF + Sales tax Get tickets

Event description

I first picked up watercolors hoping it would be easier, more fun, and more relaxing than oils and acrylics. And it took me years to get to the point where that was true. But enjoying the process of creating beautiful watercolor paintings is actually really simple once you learn a few key things (that are seldom explained on Instagram, Youtube, etc.).

And thats why I created this workshop!

In this workshop, you will learn all the foundational skills necessary to actually enjoy painting with watercolors. We’ll cover:

  • How to choose and prepare materials based on the type of painting you want to make
  • Basic composition and color selection
  • Foundational watercolor techniques (like wet on wet, wet on dry, dry on wet, and how the heck to choose which one to use)
  • Different ways to fix or flow with mistakes

And we’ll learn all of this through hands on experimentation and creation! At the end of this workshop you will leave with:

  • Your very own beautiful Blue Ridge Mountain Painting, painted by you!
  • All the basic watercolor skills you need to go home and confidently paint any subject you’d like!

This workshop is for you if:

  • You have never picked up a paintbrush before, but you want to!
  • You’ve tried watercolors and didn’t like it/thought it was hard, but you want to give it another shot!
  • You’re a beginner water colorist looking to refine your skills and get 1:1 feedback on your work.
  • You just think it sounds fun to spend a few hours making your own blue ridge mountains painting :).

“ I literally can’t even draw stick figures! This was SO much fun and I cannot believe I painted this!!!” - Lindsey, workshop attendee 2024
