Waterworks Planting Morning and Traditional Owner Walk
Event description
Help us to establish a wildlife corridor connection between Waterworks and Ryans Creek where fencing has been going up over the previous month. This corridor will enable native animals to move between areas of natural habitat, allowing them to adapt to a changing climate. It will also provide greater pedestrian access along our riverfronts. You will also be treated to a short walk guided by Uncle Al from Duduroa Dhargal Aboriginal Corporation who will share his cultural knowledge of the landscape.
A BBQ lunch will be provided.
When: 9:00 am to 11:00 am.
Where: Park at the canoe launching area at Waterworks, which is just after the second bridge on Island Road.
What is supplied: All tools and any specific safety equipment needed.
What to bring: BYO drinking water. For your safety, please wear covered shoes (preferably boots), long pants, long sleeves, and a hat.
This project has been made possible due to generous funding from Bupa and Landcare Australia.
