WE ENTANGLED MATERIALS

WE ENTANGLED MATERIALS speaks to uneasy relationships that emerge between bodies and objects, cultures, technologies and the more-than-human through experiences of entanglement.

Presented as an object-led discussion in the round, a panel of artists, designers and makers will each reflect on:

Ways materials shape understandings of entanglement within their work, and Possibilities and responsibilities for an entangled co-existence.

Featured artists include: DANIEL R MARKS (DRM), PENNIE JAGIELLO, SOFI BASSEGHI, TARRYN HANDCOCK, TASSIA JOANNIDES, NGUYỄN NGOC THẢO.

Fostering a space for collectively sharing and exchanging ideas and experiences, WE ENTANGLED MATERIALS aims to cultivate deeper understandings of how creative material practices might respectfully coexist in states of shared tensity.

As part of the event, attendees will be encouraged to participate by bringing their own object or material to reflect upon, contributing to diverse stories of practice and knowledge sharing.

DETAILS

Participants: The event is for artists and designers, researchers, educators, students and curious minds interested in contemporary art and object works, performance and installation. While anyone is welcome, children must be accompanied and supervised by an adult at all times. 

What to bring: Bring your own object or material to show as part of shared long table discussion.

Accessibility: Event activities will take place in a ground floor indoor event space; this is wheelchair accessible. Please advise the organisers of any accessibility or accommodation needs in advance.
