WEAD SALON SERIES
WEAD Salons are an opportunity to gather, mingle and appreciate the talent of one featured artist. Intimate, informal, with tea, cakes and good cheer provided by the team, they are a great way to get connected into the West End arts community.
Bay Haven Ceramics/ Janet Taylor
Janet (she/her) is a local Alameda artist and ceramics instructor. After 25+ years in tech, she turned to pottery as a way to make something real, tangible, and lasting. She founded Bay Haven Ceramics in early 2026 and is excited to see it grow into a dynamic local resource. Her current work explores “happy accidents” — leaning into what seems like mistakes, and turning them into something beautiful.
What to expect
Come and enjoy the "high tea" with the WEAD team and other attendees, we'll hear from Janet about her story, her pathway into ceramics and the adventures of opening the studio and then we'll head into the studio to try our hand at making. We'll be creating mini monsters - so all skill levels are welcome, no experience required.
How much does it cost
Tickets to the WEAD Salon Series are "Pay what you will." It is important to us that all are welcome. If you are able to contribute towards the cost of artist fees and refreshments, or even make a larger donation to support WEADs programs, we are very grateful!
