Event description
WEDS 6TH AUGUST 1-3PM Songwriting Workshop with Stella Donnelly. This is WORKSHOP #3 of a 9-week series.
In-person or online via Zoom. Sol Green Community Centre, Cnr Montague St &, Coventry St, South Melbourne
Nationally renowned singer-songwriter Stella Donnelly is working with Wild At Heart to facilitate five weeks of songwriting workshops for people with disabilities, neurodivergence, and/or mental or chronic illness. The artist, known for her inviting charm, razor-sharp wit, and authentically raw songs, will provide workshop participants with a wealth of guidance and inspiration informed by her career as a professional songwriter.
WORKSHOP #3 / COLLABORATION FOR SOCIAL CHANGE
Throughout history, music has been a powerful protest tool for people to speak about social justice issues and resistance against oppression. Learn from famous protest songs and explore how to use songwriting to speak about the issues you care about and the change you want to see in the world (e.g. disability rights, climate change, homelessness etc.)
Unlike our Social Change workshop last term, this session will be focused on group collaboration and writing a cohesive song together.
*STRICTLY LIMITED TO 20 PEOPLE PER SESSION*
If you have an eligible NDIS Plan you will need to use this to pay for your participation.
Email chloe@wildatheart.org.au to organise this.
