Wetlands Detectives: An Immersive Educational Experience
Event description
Wetlands Detectives – An Educational Experience
Discover the wondrous webs of wetland life through play, stories, and bushland exploration.
The Wetlands Centre is delighted to invite homeschooled children and their families to participate in our extended education program Traces: creatures of Walliabup Bibra Lake. Wetlands Detectives: An Educational Experience unfolds over five sessions across five months. Children will examine exciting material evidence of animal life, deeply connect with their senses in nature, and learn how to respect and be safe in the bushland.
With both indoor and outdoor components, each session offers a playful, nuanced approach to appreciating the living things of our wetland reserves through stories, songs, scientific observation, opportunities for creative expression, and scenic walks.
This program is perfect for homeschooling families seeking thoughtful, joyful, screen-free and deeply localised learning about nature.
