Tue, 22 Sep, 10:30am - 11:30am AEST

Description

Through play, movement and sharing of stories, this workshop will offer children an opportunity to dance together with their caregivers, and offer caregivers an opportunity to connect with not only their child, but with their own ‘inner child’. Grandparents are encouraged to attend.

TUE 22 SEP | 10:30AM–11:30AM in the Performance Space

This workshop is facilitated by Aimee Raitman and Mon Warren (also known to some as Coach Mon), whose combined practice has led them to work with people from ages 4 to 80 years old. Aimee's and Mon’s respective movement and theatre practices are accessible to all ages and abilities, and the workshop will create moments of joy and connection amongst participants.

This event forms part of Collective Mothering, running 01 AUG to 04 OCT at Platform Arts.

Collective Mothering is supported by a City of Greater Geelong 2025-26 Creative Commissions Grant.

About the Facilitator

Aimee Raitman (she/her) is a multidisciplinary artist and choreographer based in Naarm. Through a practice that examines universal experiences and intergenerational relationships, Aimee’s work seeks to connect with audiences through participation and community engagement.

Aimee holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts (Dance) from the Victorian College of the Arts, where she received the VCA Choreographic Award. Her recent work has been supported by Australian Dance Theatre, the Adelaide Fringe Foundation, Geelong Arts Centre, Lucy Guerin Inc., and Dancehouse. Aimee is currently an Artist in Residence at The Space Dance and Arts Centre, and an artist in the Arts Development Program presented by The Substation.
