    Event description

Join us for the "What's On My Block" event, a unique opportunity to connect with the local environment and contribute to vital conservation efforts in the Heathcote area. Hosted by the Heathcote Area Nature Group (HANG), in partnership with Biolinks Alliance, this event is designed to help local residents discover and protect the diverse wildlife that inhabits private and public lands.

Starting at the Tooboorac office, you'll be introduced to the mission of HANG, which has been closely working with Biolinks Alliance to implement the Heathcote L2L Plan. Our focus has been on restoring private lands through the Spring Plain Pilot Project, and we're excited to share our progress and future plans. You'll learn about the importance of private land in supporting local wildlife and how you can get involved in our new "What's On My Block" (WoMB) program. This initiative aims to help residents identify and protect wildlife on their properties, whether it's a backyard, bush block, or farm.

Through this event, you can explore hands-on demonstrations of trail cameras, nest boxes, and other tools designed to monitor and support local wildlife. By participating, you'll be contributing to a broader effort to safeguard our region's unique biodiversity. Whether you're a seasoned conservationist or just curious about the nature around you, this event offers something for everyone who cares about protecting our natural heritage.
