White Cane Day sensory bush walk through Kings Park
Event description
VisAbility and the Friends of Kings Park invite you to join us for a unique bushland experience. Celebrate International White Cane Day 2024 by taking your White Cane for a leisurely Spring bush walk through Kings Park.
Enjoy a sensory experience as you feel the change of the land under foot. Listen to the sounds of the native birds and animals. Take a moment to enjoy the fresh smells of the Earth and bush. Touch and feel the plants as you explore the walking trail with your Cane.
The volunteer guides will lead us, explaining along the way the many native plants and animals. The park volunteer's will talk about fascinating biodiversity, geology, turbulent history and current conservation projects.

- When: Saturday 19th October
- Time: Meet at Kings Park at 9.30am (exact meeting point to be sent to registered attendees prior to the day)
- Location: Fraser Drive, Kings Park & Botanic Garden
What to Bring?
- Comfortable sturdy shoes
- A hat
- Water bottle
- Suitable weather protection
Afterwards we'll enjoy a spot of lunch together, at your own expense, at a nearby café.
People with vision loss can enjoy free entry. Carers and friends can also be admitted free with companion cards. Tickets are strictly limited and allocated on a first-come, first-served basis.
