    Event description

Wolli Wildflower Walk ā€“ Sunday 8 September, from 8.45 am

Ever wondered what that lovely flowering plant was that you saw on your walk through the Wolli Valley ā€“ or another Sydney bushland area? Then come along to this leisurely and (plant) informative walk from Girrahween Park to Turrella Reserve on Sunday 8 September.Ā This will be an introductory walk.Ā It will alsoĀ be an opportunity to see the regenerationĀ of native plants after the controlled burn in Girrahween, in April.

No prior botanic knowledge is needed, and a brief introduction to some simple botanical concepts will be provided prior to setting off on the walk.

We will be starting at 8.45 am and finishing around 11/11.30 am. Itā€™s a one way walk, but Turrella railway station is close to the end of the walk. This walk is free for members of the Wolli Creek Preservation Society, and bookings are required. If you are not currently a member, your ticket fee covers the cost ofĀ membership to the WCPS.Ā Go to http://www.wollicreek.org.au/about_us/support_usĀ for more information about membership.Ā

This walk is not suitable for children under 12 years of age and all young people up to 17 years must be accompanied by an adult.

Please email us atĀ info@wollicreek.org.auĀ if you have any questions.Ā More details will be sent to participants following registration.
