This hands-on training day provides the foundation for anyone working with or around wildlife, combining practical handling skills with important welfare, safety and legislative considerations.
Designed for environmental officers, rangers, wildlife carers, veterinary staff, emergency responders and field-based personnel, the course focuses on safe and effective first response techniques used in wildlife rescue and rehabilitation.

• Wildlife Work Health & Safety principles and risk assessment
• Legislation and licensing
• Importance of accurate species identification
• Safe catching and restraint of common wildlife species
• Performing a thorough assessment of injured wildlife in the field
• Assess injured, sick, displaced or orphaned native animals
• Neonatal/joey marsupial care
• Reptile handling and assessment
• Amphibian first aid considerations and assessment
