Winter Drawing Series: Still Life - Observational Drawing

Develop your creativity and expand your drawing skills with our Winter Drawing Series at Mona Vale Creative Space Gallery.

Complementing our Life Drawing Studio program, this series will focus on the genre of Still Life.

Led by artist and tutor, Yvonne East, participants will explore tools to help accurately observe still life. You will learn specific drawing techniques that will deepen your understanding of tone, gestural line, perceptive projection and materials.

Join one or all three of these sessions that are designed to complement each other. 

Thursday 4 June   - Still Life: Observational Drawing 

Thursday 18 June - Still Life: Tonal Charcoal Drawing

Thursday 2 July     - Still Life: Drawing with Graphite

The first session will focus on three-dimensional geometric still-life forms and their relationship to the two-dimensional picture plane. Participants are invited to bring a few small objects for inclusion in still life displays.

Participants to bring:

• All own drawing materials

• 2 - 3 objects eg. vase, bowl cup for inclusion in still life displays

Suggested materials:

• 2 - 3 sheets A2 or A3 cartridge paper and /or sketch pad 

• range of pencils, willow charcoal (thick & thin sticks) eraser, your standard drawing kit etc

These workshops will take place at Mona Vale Creative Space Gallery with a maximum of 15 participants only.
