The Magick of the Winter Solstice (June)
Event description
The time of the winter solstice historically marked the symbolic death and rebirth of the sun, our closest star within the galaxy. From the point of deepest darkness and the longest night comes a sacred moment when the sun appears to "stand still" on the horizon before a gradual increase in light and daylight hours occurs.
This is a poignant time, likened to the pregnant pause between the inhalation and exhalation of breath, and where we can celebrate the light in the dark, and all we have learnt through the dark winter cycle before the new cycle of light commences.
Within contemporary witchcraft this is the time of the rebirth of the God, the divine masculine, the embodiment of the sun. It can be a time of deep reflection, of letting go, as well as bringing forth that which is waiting to be reborn in your life. What is it that is waiting to be rebirthed within you?
NB: This Gathering Around the Cauldron event will include a rite which will require group participation and movement. As such, what you receive out of such events is based on your willingness to participate.
