Wear it Purple Day Allies Morning Tea
Description
All young people deserve safety, support and understanding to thrive. Research shows that youth who are rejected by parents, carers and adults in their lives are less likely to effectively navigate and cope with the challenges they face. In addition, they are more likely to experience additional mental and physical health issues that can be life-long.
The good news is that you can help restore a young person’s confidence, trust, and sense of self. You can revitalize the hope and health of a young person facing a hostile world; whether they be your own child, a young person in your life or classroom.
LGBTQIA+ young people deserve support and acceptance within their homes, workplaces, and university classrooms.
This year, our annual Wear it Purple Day event will focus on how you can be an ally to the young people in your life; whether they be your own children, your family, friends, or students. With allyship for the LGBTQIA+ community on the decline, there is no better time for allies from the Parents and Carers, and Pride Network to discuss how they stepped up to be a safe space for young trans and gender diverse people in their lives.
