    Diversity equity cultural immersion workshop

    Join guest speaker and facilitator Sharon Wood-Kenney as she provides a diversity, equity and cultural immersion workshop, which is also being rolled out across WA Police, Health, Education, WA Football and Government Agencies. The workshop is a unique program being hailed as the toolkit for changing the narrative.

    Self-reflection, unpacking bias, unlearning, truth-telling of history and our social responsibilities, belong, heal, grow, innovate respectfully together.

    ⭐ Guest speaker and Facilitator: Sharon Wood-Kenney ⭐ 

    Sharon Wood-Kenney is a proud Noongar Yamatji woman with family connections across Boorloo (Perth) and across WA. She is a highly sought after agent for systems change and guest speaker on finding ways for living ones best life with inclusive philosophies. A strong advocate for tough conversations on disruption thinking, challenging non-functioning systems and cross-cultural awareness, Sharon Wood-Kenney brings people together and with a strong leadership style, working through a complex cultural lens with a scope beyond many.

    With strong ties in both the Indigenous and other communities, Sharon Wood-Kenney is intent on creating opportunities for all disadvantaged children, families, and individuals.

    When Sharon Wood-Kenney and WiTWA started yarning about culture, similarities and differences, and how this all links to a world that is underpinned by technology, Sharon started seeing how this could all be woven together into the dreamtime stories of the future.

    Sharon Wood-Kenney was inducted to the WA Women’s Hall of Fame in 2020.

    ⭐ MC: Bec Nguyen ⭐ 

    Bec Nguyen is the Founder and Director of Upbeat Digital, a Perth-based consultancy business specialising in digital project and product management; UX/UX design and community engagement in social impact issues using an innovative, human-centered approach.

    Upbeat Digital has collaborated with state and national organisations across Australia in several industries (health, education, commercial and social impact) to support the translation of evidence-based resources and research to the wider community through digital solutions. Bec is an advocate for women on colour in technology, as well as supporting community members to have a voice in the work she does, especially those that are under-represented, including disadvantaged and ethnic minorities.

    Bec was a recipient of the WiTWA Tech [+20] Award in 2021.
