    It’s time for WiTWA’s annual Meet & Greet event to launch our 2024 WiTWA Tech [+] Awards program and connect our community. It will be an evening of great company, delectable food and the opportunity to network over drinks.

    This event is perfect for anyone who is:

    ⭐ An aspiring nominee for this year's Tech [+] Awards looking for tips or inspiration

    ⭐ A past WiTWA Tech [+] Award winner and keen to meet your fellow Alumni

    ⭐ Keen to mingle with fellow incredible WiTWA women and allies.

    We are very excited to showcase the diversity of our winners from the past few years and have invited them to join us and share their stories, passion and advice with our community and our new and potential nominees.

    We are honored to announce our speakers for the WiTWA Awards Meet & Greet Panel are:

    ⭐ Lizbeth Ong - Lead Product Designer ⭐

    2023 WiTWA Rising Star Award Winner: Design, Analysis & Product Management.

    Liz is a designer who cares about solving problems through the lens of empathy and growth. Her career purpose is to connect dots – to help others realise what problems they’re actually trying to solve then help solve those problems through collaboration and curiosity. She embodies authentic and servant leadership, and is passionate about mentoring young professionals or career changers who are drawn to the world of design and technology.

    ⭐ Dr Parwinder Kaur - Associate Professor, Founder, Chair, Director ⭐

    2022 WiTWA Tech [+] Star Award Winner.

    Dr Parwinder Kaur is a proud Indian-Australian award-winning scientist, a passionate leader and positive role model as a mother, and a professor in science for the next generation of diverse scientists to pursue their passion for science and discovery. She leads cross-disciplinary biotechnology research investigating Earth’s biodiversity and natural environments to ensure sustainable futures. She uses her expertise to reach people in new ways, connecting them with their surroundings. Through her diverse research teams, such as DNA Zoo Australia, she harnesses STEM to achieve maximised impact. In doing so, she believes this will help us tackle the bigger issues we as society are facing, bringing about solutions through fresh thinking rather than following usual norms. 

    ⭐ Dr Mehwish Nasim - Disinformation Researcher and Artificial Intelligence Lecturer ⭐

    2023 WiTWA Shining Star Award Winner: AI, Robotics, Data & Analytics.

    Dr Nasim works at the intersection of Computer Science and Social Psychology. Informed by sociological theories on human interaction, she develops mathematical models of social influence to combat the dissemination of misinformation across social media platforms. She is also a TEDx speaker and is dedicated to increasing the percentage of underrepresented individuals in the STEM workforce, particularly women with caring responsibilities. 

    ⭐ Elizabeth Knight - Founder, Public Speaker, Youth Advocate and No Code Developer ⭐

    2023 WiTWA Shining Star Award Winner: Entrepreneurship & Innovation.

    Elizabeth is the founder of Purposeful, a startup helping young people to find their place in the world and careers they are passionate about. Through their purpose and career discovery programs, and podcast, Begin Again Club, Purposeful have empowered over 20,000 students to make purposeful decisions about their futures and life after school. Elizabeth also co-founded No Code Odyssey, a startup supporting entrepreneurs to build any website or app without writing a single line of code. Their programs allowed creators to bring their ideas to life with a fraction of the budget of a developer and in a matter of days, not months.

    Agenda:

    5:00pm - 5.30pm: Arrival.

    5.30pm - 7.00pm: WiTWA Awards Introduction and Past Award Winner Moderated Panel.

    7:00pm – 8:00pm: Networking and Refreshments.
