Join the Physics Students' Society (PSS) and the Society for Astronomy at Melbourne University (SAMU) for an evening celebrating the incredible past, present, and future of women in astronomy and astrophysics.
Whether you are an undergraduate, postgraduate, staff member, or simply curious about the people expanding our understanding of the universe, this night is for you. All backgrounds and genders are warmly welcome to join in, connect, and celebrate.

Hands-On Creative Stations: Explore the intersection of art and astrophysics. Design your own planet lanterns, try your hand at custom embroidery, construct paper luminaries, and view our exhibition profiling iconic women in astronomy.
Keynote Speaker: Hear from Mel Miles – an interdisciplinary artist, student, and researcher at Swinburne University – to learn more about the history of women in Australian astronomy and discover what these pioneering figures teach us about science today.

Mel Miles
Mel Miles is an artist, researcher and physics student at Swinburne University. Her work incorporates physics, astronomy and historical stories expressed through textiles, painting, animation and biographical filmmaking.
