Nourish to Flourish: Women in Print 2025 Breakfast Series (and one Lunch)

Join us for the 2025 Women in Print Breakfast Series, where we explore multiple facets of Nourish to Flourish; a whole life  approach to wellbeing at both work and in our families. Across the country, our speakers will share various insights on physical health, mental health, and the role of happiness and self-care in bringing our best selves out.

Canberra Speaker TBC

Your Hosts

Your hosts in Canberra will be Karen Lawler, Patron for ACT and NSW, and Business Development Manager at Cactus Imaging, and Stephanie Gaddin, Chair of Women in Print Australia, Editor of Digital Image Magazine, and MD of Rocking Rose. They will be supported by volunteers from  team at Instant Colour Press in Belconnen, ACT.

Karen Lawler

Karen has over a decade of experience in business development, client management, and event coordination. Currently serving as a Business Development Manager at Cactus Imaging, she specialises in working with direct clients, including smaller sign shops and media agencies. Her role spans nationwide advertising campaigns to supporting local businesses with their signage needs, showcasing her adaptability and commitment to customer satisfaction.

Beyond her professional career, Karen is a passionate photographer, with expertise in sports and live music photography. She completed a Diploma of Photography and Photo Imaging at Torrens University in early 2024 and continues to refine her craft, capturing everything from racetrack action to live performances. She shares her work through her website and social media, building a growing online presence.

An advocate for mental health awareness, Karen openly discusses imposter syndrome and the importance of self-care. She finds solace in creative outlets, particularly ceramics, a hobby she has pursued for over a decade. On Friday nights, she can often be found at a ceramics studio in Surry Hills, crafting functional art pieces that she affectionately refers to as “wabi-wabi” creations.

Karen’s personal ethos is inspired by individuals who achieve extraordinary things in ordinary ways. She actively supports causes such as homelessness awareness and regularly attends live music events, finding immense joy in the energy and connection they foster.

As a state Patron for Women in Print in both the ACT and NSW, Karen is dedicated to increasing visibility for women in the industry and fostering a supportive network. She aims to use her platform to champion and elevate the achievements of women in print, encouraging others to step out of their comfort zones and embrace new opportunities.

Stephanie Gaddin

Stephanie has been in the print industry for over 15 years, holding a variety of leadership roles across communications and technology. She brings a wealth of expertise at the intersection of print and technology.

A long-time community member and supporter of Women in Print, Stephanie is currently the Managing Director of Rocking Rose, a bespoke digital technology agency, and is the Editor of Digital Image Magazine, in a part time role, representing the wide-format and digital signage sector.

Passionate about promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion, Stephanie has played a pivotal role in fostering gender equality within the print industry, including spearheading initiatives to elevate women's voices and technical opportunities, as well as leadership skills development, scholarship opportunities and ongoing continuous professional development for all.
