Work that Reconnects Summer Study–Action Circle: Coming Back to Life 🌱
Event description
Start the year with a moment to reconnect—both inwardly and with others working to transform systems across Australia. This summer, we open the 2026 Study–Action Circle series with Coming Back to Life, the foundational text of The Work That Reconnects.
Hosted by the NENA Systems Change Hub, and supported by the School of Social Impact and the Humanitarian Changemakers Network, this circle offers a welcoming space for anyone committed to building a fair, regenerative and democratic economy.
Expect a mix of reflection, experiential practices and grounded discussion. Some moments will be quiet. Others will spark laughter, insight and connection. All are designed to help us show up to this moment in history with steadiness and courage.
What’s Inside
A gentle introduction to The Work That Reconnects 🌏
Conversation with people working across climate, community, justice, policy and new economy initiatives
Practices that support emotional resilience and ecological awareness
A supportive community where everyone belongs
🗓 What to Expect from the Study-Action Circles
The Work That Reconnects (WTR) offers practical tools and reflective practices to help those working to transform our economic systems navigate complexity, build resilience, and sustain collective action. By combining deep reflection, experiential exercises, and group dialogue, WTR supports changemakers in facing ecological, social, and economic crises with clarity, courage, and connection—enhancing their ability to envision and co-create a more regenerative, equitable, and wellbeing-centred economy.
As we move through the seasons in 2026, we will:
📚 Read a selected text related to The Work That Reconnects
🌀 Gather for a LIVE online community circle to share reflections, deepen into experiential practices, and support each other’s projects and emotional resilience
🌱 Co-create a space where personal growth and systems change are nourished together as we work to change systems and build the New Economy movement
Who this if for: Changemakers of all backgrounds—activists, researchers, practitioners, educators, organisers, storytellers and people doing the quiet, everyday work of building something better.
