Working Group | Vibration Analysis
Event description
This working group will focus on 'Vibration Analysis' with shared insights from Tarun Motwani.
In the last 20 years, industry has improved predictive maintenance processes and the tools used to perform it. Vibration analysis technology is just one example.
What is vibration analysis?
Vibration Analysis is defined as the technique of measuring vibration to identify anomalies in industrial machinery. Using FFT (Fast Fourier transform) algorithms, Vibration Analysers separate vibration signals into amplitude and frequency components to facilitate failure recognition.
With such rapid advancement, it is natural that companies will follow different paths in this important area.
In this event we are very fortunate to have Tarun Motwani, Senior Reliability Engineer from Noble Engineering who will present on the topic of “Online Wireless Vibration and Temperature Monitoring”.

In this working group we will discuss such topics as:
- What vibration monitoring technology are you currently using? (E.g. Hard-wired / Wireless vibration sensors / Artificial intelligence)
- Where is the technology most effective (i.e. Remote pump stations, Dams, water treatment plant, rotating equipment, critical assets)
- How reliable are the sensor signals (i.e. are there any communication issues in particular systems, loss of signal, loss of data, hardware issues)?
- How accurate are the VA readings? And how do they compare with the traditional portable VA tools?
- What benefits has your organisation had from the use of VA technology?
- What limitations have you seen (E.g. High / Low frequency, Lubrication condition)
There are many questions in this space, so come along and share your experiences and learn with your peers as we discuss Vibration Analysis and how to effectively use it in your business.
Our events are an excellent forum for networking and engaging in 'peer to peer' learning with other members. To get the most out of the event you need to attend the event with a willingness to contribute to group discussions.
Who should attend?
This event is ideal for Asset managers, reliability engineers, Operations and Engineering managers, CI and PI professionals
As a member of IPA you can register up to 2 people, subject to availability, to attend this event. This event is for IPA members only, there will be no public access to this event.
When do I need to register by?
Registrations close 2 days prior to event date.
Registrations are based on a "first come, first served" basis.
There are no allocated seats with membership.
