Workshop 3: GenAI in Design workflow masterclass

This workshop is a public masterclass in advanced Generative AI (GenAI) workflows for contemporary design practice. Led by GenAI experts from Seoul’s Hongik University, the session introduces ComfyUI as an open source, next‑generation approach to working with AI image generation. Rather than relying on one‑shot prompts, ComfyUI enables designers to construct visual pipelines that reveal and control how images are produced, supporting iterative testing, refinement, and deeper engagement with the design process. In this way, the workshop positions ComfyUI as a significant shift in how designers work creatively with GenAI.

What you will get

The workshop is designed to be hands-on and accessible to design practitioners, educators, researchers, and students interested in advancing their use of GenAI tools. Participants are encouraged to bring their own device and work alongside the presenters, though observation-only participation is also welcome.

Participants will leave with an understanding of how to create and adapt their own GenAI pipelines, and how greater control over workflows can elevate AI-assisted design from rapid concept generation to more considered, refined outcomes.
