Sgraffito a Porcelain Keep-Cup (solar fired)
In this high end porcelain decorating workshop, you will learn the ancient and fine art of sgraffito - hand carving on porcelain. Decorate your very own keep cup (The cup will be pre-thrown professionally on the wheel for you).
You will learn the technique of adding oxides to your piece, then carving back into the porcelain using specialised porcelain tools. Add your own creative mark for a truly personal café noir experience. Everyone welcome.
The cost of the workshop includes a professionally thrown cup to decorate, final glazing and the firing of your piece in a solar kiln and return to Flaxton Gardens for collection at the end of SOTE. A professional outcome for you to take home.
Lunch, coffee and other refreshments will be available for purchase from the Flaxton Gardens café and restaurant.
The workshop will take place in view of the public as part of the many activities associated with Sculpture on the Edge 2023.
Workshop ticket includes entry to the competition exhibition.
