Waste and Resource Recovery Industry Open House: Industry briefings on Regulatory Strategy, Organics Strategy, Updates on Queensland’s E-Waste Activities, and much more.
Date: Friday 22 October 2021
Time: 7:30am - 1:00pm (includes breakfast/ morning ) In person attendees please arrive at least 10 minutes early.
Location: North Ipswich Reserve Corporate Centre 43 The Terrace, North Ipswich
Parking: There are a limited number of on-site carparks available at the venue but there is parking on surrounding street.

Waste, resource recovery, and related businesses will be provided an opportunity to engage with the Department of Environment and Science (DES) on current consultation and government priorities.
Current and recently announced activities by the State Government include:
- New Regulatory Strategy Review
- Draft Organic Strategy
- E-Waste Action Plan
- Textile Action Plan
This session will also include a presentation from the Federal Department of Environment for National Waste Policy Items.
WRIQ will also be carrying out consultation on new programs we are launching including:
- Introduction to waste and resource recovery sector course
- Stockpiling course (following from consultation in May / June)
- Regulated waste transport course (targeted at waste generators, transporters and receivers)
