Event description

Don't miss this rare opportunity to learn from one of Australia’s most celebrated and knowledgeable children’s literature experts. Sally Murphy is an award-winning author and poet who has published over 20 books for children including verse novels, picture books, chapter books and middle grade novels. She also holds a PhD in creative writing, lectures in education and literacy at Curtin University and was awarded a Medal of the Order of Australia (OAM) in 2022 for her outstanding contributions to education and children’s literature.

A FREE hands-on workshop suitable for adults of all experience levels. Whether you're a published, aspiring or hobby writer; working on your own children's book; a teacher or librarian; or a casual kidlit enthusiast, Sally will reveal fun and creative ways that words and stories can help children learn to read and encourage a lifelong love of books.

Light refreshments will be provided. Please bring your preferred writing materials (e.g. laptop, journal and pen). Don't worry if you don't have anything, we'll have some materials to share.
