Event description

Don't miss this rare opportunity to learn from one of Australia’s most celebrated and knowledgeable children’s literature experts. Sally Murphy is an award-winning author and poet who has published over 20 books for children including verse novels, picture books, chapter books and middle grade novels. She also holds a PhD in creative writing, lectures in education and literacy at Curtin University and was awarded a Medal of the Order of Australia (OAM) in 2022 for her outstanding contributions to education and children’s literature.

A FREE hands-on workshop suitable for adults of all experience levels. Whether you're a published, aspiring or hobby writer; working on your own children's book; a teacher or librarian, or a casual kidlit enthusiast, Sally will enlighten you in fun and creative ways that can help children learn to read and encourage a lifelong love of books.

Light refreshments will be provided. Please bring whatever material(s) you have with you, including drafts, sketches or a portfolio, as well as writing and drawing materials. Don't worry if you don't have anything, we'll have some materials to share.
