Join us for a closing night built to leave a mark. We kick things off early, bringing together some of the most exciting emerging bands in the UK right now, all leading up to a headline set from the unstoppable YAANG.
It’s been a breakout year for YAANG. Named in the NME 100 as “one of the most exciting bands to come from the North West,” they’ve built serious momentum with backing from BBC Radio 6 Music and tastemakers like The Line of Best Fit, DIY, and Louder Than War. Even Simon Le Bon is paying attention. Expect a set that’s fast, ferocious, and impossible to stand still through, pounding rhythms, jagged guitars, and a bite of wit that cuts through the noise.
Liines bring razor-sharp post-punk energy, drawing comparisons to Savages and Desperate Journalist. Their sound is urgent, driving, and unapologetically fierce, equal parts tension and release, built for the live stage.
Manchester’s Martial Arts continue to cement their place at the heart of the city’s new wave, standing shoulder to shoulder with the likes of Westside Cowboy and Shaking Hand. Their set promises restless energy and raw intent.
Blackburn's Sky Valley Mistress deliver a wall of desert rock power, huge fuzzed-out riffs channeling Queens of the Stone Age and Black Sabbath, matched with a voice that cuts deep and soars higher. It’s heavy, hypnotic, and built to shake the room.
If you haven’t seen these bands yet, now’s the time, before the venues get bigger and the tickets get harder to find. If you have, you already know what’s coming.

Lineup

Yaang
It’s already been quite the year for YAANG. Announced as part of illustrious hype list NME 100 last month where they were heralded as “one of the most exciting bands to come from the North West. ” and growing their list of radio backers supporters to Huw Stephens, Steve Lamacq, Emily Pilbeam, Indie Forever, New Music Fix (BBC Radio 6 Music) and John Kennedy (Radio X)- via backing too from The Line of Best Fit, DIY, and Duran Duran’s Simon Le Bon. Manchester punk trio YAANG have been steadily building their reputation for furious, high-energy, live shows, powered by the rocket-fuel combo of pulsating drum loops, clangorous guitars and a wicked sense of humour. “YAANG have marked themselves as one of the most exciting bands to come from the North West" - NME “Blurring the lines between the seductive thump of the dancefloor and the sweat-soaked mayhem of the mosh pit”- DIY “a chaotic blend of 80s Killing Joke, DEVO, and, then, Viagra Boys— a glorious cluster fuck of sonic nonsense. It couldn’t work for any other band."- Louder Than War

Liines
LIINES are a three-piece post-punk band based in Manchester. The trio has become a prominent force in the post-punk/new-wave scene, drawing comparisons to acts such as Savages, PINS, and Desperate Journalist. Their sound is an infectious, urgent, and at times furious blend of riot grrrl attitude, post-punk edge, and alternative rock energy, shaped by their diverse influences. Alongside headline tours and festival appearances, the band have supported Sleaford Mods on a 32-date tour of England and Wales, been shortlisted in the final eight for Glastonbury’s Emerging Talent competition, and repressed Stop-Start as a black vinyl tour exclusive. LIINES were also named winners of the CityLife Awards 2020 Breakthrough Act category. Continuing their momentum, the band has now been added to this year’s Bearded Theory festival lineup, along with playing the very first Gather@ music festival in Rossendale.

Martial Arts
Gigs can be a semi-religious experience, Martial Arts shows are transcendent affairs, with their dual frontmen Jim Marson and Matty Pearce often down on the floor with the crowd. The post-punk fivesome are a lynchpin of Manchester’s new music scene, along with their friends Westside Cowboy and Shaking Hand - a scene drawing national attention as a hotbed of creativity across multiple genres. They are also, in the words of Jim, a band of "direct action", part of a thriving grass-roots political movement in the city.

Sky Valley Mistress
Combining ferocious fuzz guitar sounds of Queens of the Stone Age, the Stooges and Black Sabbath with the soul smoked sound of Kayley’s deep rich voice, Sky Valley Mistress take you through a range of soaring, delicate and yearning melodies between peaks of mountainous riffs and depths of granite-heavy desert rock grooves. Defying logic with aspiration, the pair have created a live show that has to be seen to be believed...Facing each other on stage, the Duel-Drumming Duo stand with vocalist Kayley “Hell Kitten” Davies behind one half of the kit and guitarist Max “Leather Messiah” Newsome holding onto the kick drum pedal. No samples. No backing tracks. No click tracks. No one is playing rock and roll like these two do.
