What if a fire or a storm happened tomorrow? In the first few hours after any emergency, the local community are the first responders well before emergency services can arrive.

Let's get together with our neighbours and local volunteer responders to explore ways we can prepare our families and community. Come along to a discussion night where we'll talk through an emergency scenario and how we think we would respond. Then we'll put our thinking to the test with an interactive activity night that will be a safe simulation of an emergency.

All sessions are facilitated by Jamie Mackenzie from Red Flag Real Time Leadership Solutions, who has over 35 years of experience in bushfire and emergency response and also supports the Arthurs Creek Strathewen Bushfire Education Partnership (BEP).

The interactive activity night will be a (safe!) simulation of an emergency, where you will get a text message and be asked to gather with your neighbours to set up and respond to any issues that might arise. We will also have an opportunity to reflect on what we’ve experienced and learnt and identify what we might want to do next to better our preparedness for the next emergency.

Dinner and childcare provided. Children aged 10+ are very welcome to participate - they are great creative problem solvers!
