Jain HSC: Year 12 Chemistry Module 7 Crash Course

This event is running in a HYBRID format (in-person and on Zoom simultaneously). leveraging high-quality writing from an iPad and a beautiful TV in the room. All students will receive abundant personalised support and attention.

The HSC Chemistry Module 7 Organic Chemistry Crash Course is being delivered by Rishabh Jain, a final-year Biomedical Engineering and Science student with over 4 years of tutoring experience.

Module 7 Organic Chemistry is the largest module in the HSC Chemistry syllabus, and includes a lot of complex naming, reactions and rules. This Crash Course will cover the entire module:

• Essential rules for nomenclature (naming) of organic compounds
• An exploration of isomers, including tips for identification
• Differences between and properties of hydrocarbons
• Reactions involving hydrocarbons, including tips and tricks for remembering them better
• Properties, naming and reactions involving alcohols, including enthalpy of combustion
• A brief summary of organic acids and bases (aldehydes, ketones, amines, amides and carboxylic acids) including soaps and detergents
• A brief summary of polymers
