The HSC Chemistry Module 7 Organic Chemistry Crash Course is being delivered by Rishabh Jain, a final-year Biomedical Engineering and Science student with over 4 years of tutoring experience.

Module 7 Organic Chemistry is the largest module in the HSC Chemistry syllabus, and includes a lot of complex naming, reactions and rules. This Crash Course will cover the entire module:

Essential rules for nomenclature (naming) of organic compounds
An exploration of isomers, including tips for identification
Differences between and properties of hydrocarbons
Reactions involving hydrocarbons, including tips and tricks for remembering them better
Properties, naming and reactions involving alcohols, including enthalpy of combustion
A brief summary of organic acids and bases (aldehydes, ketones, amines, amides and carboxylic acids) including soaps and detergents
A brief summary of polymers
