Event description

Do you have a business idea that you would love to bring to life? Join us at the Young Entrepreneurs Hub in January where we will be working to help you build and launch your own business.

Over two action-packed days, we will be working with high school students to build their own businesses as part of the Young Entrepreneurs Hub. With the program hosted at the WeWork Co-Working Space in Brisbane City, and facilitated by the expert BOP team, this is a great opportunity for young people looking to bring their business ideas to life.

For our program on the 18th and 19th of January, we will have a specific focus on helping students get their businesses ready to start selling to customers. Over the course of the two days, we will organise specialised masterclasses and expert mentors to work with students to identify a quick and easy way to start making money in their business, before then looking at how they can get this first product or service out to their customers.

Minimum Viable Product
On the first day, we'll be working with students to develop a minimum viable product. To start the day we will be focussing on minimum viable products as we help students identify a simple and easy product or service that they can offer to start making money. Over the course of the day, we'll be exploring how to source the materials, how to price your product, and how to write a product listing for customers.

Customer Experience
Once we have a minimum viable product ready to sell, we'll turn our attention to how we get this into the hands of customers. In our customer experience session we'll be working to create a sales funnel for our businesses as we identify ways to engage target customers, and get them to a point where they are ready to buy our products or services.

Our Young Entrepreneurs Hub Program has been designed for high school students looking to bring their business ideas to life. Over the course of the two days students will be connecting with other like-minded young people, hearing from mentors in the field, and working with the BOP team as we guide them along their business journey.

Each day, students will start with a quick check-in with the BOP team before diving into a masterclass on the focus topic for the day. From there they will be free to work on their business as they apply their newfound knowledge and skills. Throughout the day the BOP team will check in with the students to provide support, and mentors will also be available to inspire and empower attendees.

Frequently Asked Questions

Who Is This Program For?
This program is open to students in Grades 7-12 from across South-East Queensland. We typically only take up to 20 students per program to keep the group small.

Do I Need A Business Idea Already?
We do ask that
students have a business idea before entering the program. Whilst they don't need to have a product or service ready to sell just yet, we do ask that they have a clear idea on what they would like their business to do.

What Do Students Need To Bring?
Students will need to bring a device (preferably a laptop) to work on over the course of the program. In addition to this, we ask that they bring morning tea and lunch each day. All other equipment will be provided.

When Will The Program Run?
The program will run from 9am - 3pm on Tuesday the 18th and Wednesday the 19th of January 2022. Students are welcome to arrive from 8:30am and can stay until 4pm should they wish.

How Do Students Get To The Venue?
The program will take place at 310 Edward Street. There are plenty of public transport options nearby with Central Station across the road, and the Queen Street and King George Square Bus Stations a 5 minute walk away. There is also a pick up and drop off zone by the 'Adina Hotel' across the road.
