Yin and Pins – A Spring Reawakening
Join Rose, yoga teacher and sound healer, and Dr Nathan Chin, Doctor of Chinese Medicine and registered acupuncturist, for a restorative two and a half -hour journey combining Yin Yoga, acupuncture, breathwork and sound healing.
Both Yin Yoga and acupuncture work with the body’s meridian system. In this special spring session, we’ll focus on the Liver and Gallbladder meridians, which are associated in Traditional Chinese Medicine with spring, renewal, growth and the element of wood.
Spring invites us to cultivate kindness, patience and flexibility, while creating space to release some of the anger, frustration and stress we may be holding.
We’ll begin with a brief introduction to Yin Yoga and Traditional Chinese Medicine before moving through a series of supported Yin postures. Each pose is held for several minutes, giving your body time to settle, gently open and prepare for acupuncture.
You’ll then rest in an extended savasana while Dr Nathan applies gentle acupuncture to selected points. The soothing sounds of the crystal singing bowls will accompany you, helping you settle more deeply into stillness and relaxation.
This session is suitable for anyone looking for time to slow down, release tension and restore balance. No previous yoga or acupuncture experience is needed; however, you’ll need to be able to get down onto the floor and back up again without assistance.
