Price $35 AUD + BF Get tickets

Event description

Be immersed in healing vibration and experience profound relaxation with a guided yin class and sound bath.
All funds raised will support three Afghan artists seeking asylum.

Join us at HOV yoga in Mullumbimby on Saturday, July 27, at 5pm for a deeply restful yin yoga class led by Kate, complemented by the healing vibration of crystal singing bowls, Tibetan bowls, tuning forks and Caroline's divine voice.

This evening promises to be special: a chance to come together as a community and experience the powerful medicine of restorative yin practice and sound healing, and also do something to help others who are suffering.

About the people we're helping

More than two years ago, I was connected with two Afghani actresses and an actor/director, to help them apply for humanitarian visas to Australia.

Through this process, I built a friendship with them and have seen how difficult life under the Taliban has become for them.  They have endured kidnap attempts, televised threats, poverty and incredible hardship.

It has become clear that they cannot be issued a humanitarian visa by Australia or other countries unless they are able to move to a third country and register with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR).   They have decided to apply for visas for Pakistan, where they can register with UNHCR.

Having been unable to work for two years, they need support to make this move.  This yin and sound evening will raise funds to support them to apply for the visa (AUD$500 per person) and to cover their travel and initial living expenses.

All funds are managed through Ballina Region for Refugees.

Thank you for your kind support,

Sara Gloede (Ocean Shores for Refugees)
