Yoga for Soul Making
Event description
More about the Program.
Pondering of soul has attracted the attention of poets, writers, artists and musicians alike since the beginning of time. The Platonic idea of “life as a form of craftsmanship” highlights how this living from soul may have inspired artists but is the birthright of all. Ancient cultures lived in “soul” as they saw all of creation as connected and from one source. We live in a special time with growing appreciation of how much we have lost by moving away from soul and the “drifting home” is one of the most natural underway phenomenon's of our present day! More and more we are acknowledging the unity or oneness of Vedanta, Buddhism and countless other strands of philosophy along with recognition of values and lifestyles of our own indigenous people. We too can now feel the spirit of the land and like our ancestors learn to live in “soul” and by doing so connect with soul within! That is finding soul from the outside in! Our traditional landowners concept of land as “mother” is one place where it can start but it can also be our communities, families and workplaces.
So much of our experience can mask the soul’s real longing and want to express its inherent nature in our worldly life and just a glimmer of light is all it takes to see the shine of our inner gold. Connecting with this insight, even if only briefly can be enough for the unfolding and flowering of the soul experience! The enriched way of being that results is not easily captured in words and once ignited becomes a naturally ongoing expression of the precious inner self! Life becomes centered on simply being, rather than the apparent linear progression of the modern world. This program is experiential and while with some facilitation, the creativity and doing will be entirely of your own making! Some sharing of ideas will support subtle mental shifts to accommodate the “outside in” move towards “soul” while the Yoga practices of posture, relaxation, breath work and mediation facilitate the “inside out” approach. Yoga in this context is not about a few classes per week to manage stress & the physical body but a way of living. Just a few strands of yoga thinking along with some simple practices can help weave your life into a happier and more fulfilling experience.
The program will essentially be experiential, suitable for all levels of experience or physical ability, overlapping
traditional practices of postures, relaxation, breathing and meditation with discourse and exchange to develop
knowledge and skills related to creative visualisation. Each individual will find space and capacity to work to
their own level without limitation, relating the workshop to current life challenges and aspirations.
You will find a new passion for life and be inspired in the following ways,
- Realise the immense depth of your own inner personality and know it as a source of richness and guidance.
- Become confident in using your inner space more constructively to manage both every day challenges & long term goals
- Learn to understand the language of soul and how to recognise it’s speaking
- Familiarise yourself more with all the non mental faculties and realise their potency in living life more powerfully
- All the above will result in a new sense of freedom, the ability to navigate your underworld and find the most uplifting form of self esteem and happiness that life can offer!
