Yoga for Youth by the Beach - Monday 18th September

Yoga for Youth | Mackay Northern Beaches | Mackay Regional Council Activate Program | Monday 4:45pm - 5:45pm

We are proud to partner with Mackay Regional Council and the Activate Program to bring Yoga to Youth to you every week for just $5.

Welcoming all teens aged 12 - 18 to our Yoga for Youth Class. Join us for a 60 minute Vinyasa (flowing) Yoga Class exclusively for teens. This class is suitable for beginners through to advanced yoga students and is safe and supportive space for teens to explore the many benefits of yoga, to connect with other teens and more importantly, yourself. You do not need to be flexible or even 'enjoy' exercise to reap the many benefits of yoga - this class is about mindful movement, working our body in a different way, finding calm in the chaos of busy minds and connecting with ourselves. This class is delivered by Rebecca Cooper, an experienced secondary health and physical education teacher, fitness instructor, personal trainer and yoga teacher, with a passion for youth health and wellbeing.

Please arrive 10 minutes prior to start time to settle in and set yourself up.  Parents are not required to stay. 

As it is the school holidays our youth might like to come earlier and spend time with their friendship circle before the yoga class starts. This will not be supervised by Yoga for Youth, just a suggestion for a nice afternoon outing and connection.  

Location: Eimeo Beach Surf Life Saving Club, Beachfront Grass Area. 

BYO: Yoga Mat and Waterbottle (I do have a few spare mats, so please let me know in advance and I may be able loan you one for the session pending numbers). We recommend bringing a waterproof picnic mat to put under your yoga mat for this outdoor yoga class.

Attire: Comfortable clothing for movement

Investment: $5 per student. Thank you to Mackay Regional Council for supporting this project via the Activate Program so that we can provide this service to you at a discounted price. 

***Online bookings essential as tickets are capped. Click the 'get tickets' button to secure your spot. You will have the option to pay your $5 online (+ small booking fee) or you can bring $5 cash to the session (please bring exact money)***  

Following your booking you will receive a link via email or text message for a medical form and waiver to be completed prior to your first class. 

Directions: Once on Rosewood Drive, turn right at the first round about and follow the maze around then park in the main carpark in front of the Performing Arts Centre (PAC - which is the large dark coloured building right at the front of the school). Enter through the blacks gates near the PAC which will be open and then through the glass doors which are on the left hand side. Parents are welcome to wait quietly in the foyer area, drop and go or perhaps even go for a mindful walk around the area until your child's class is complete. Please ensure you collect your child on time as we have another class for adults which starts straight after Yoga for Youth. Please contact Rebecca on 0417275321 if you have difficulty finding us.
