You Can’t Take Me
Several years ago, a small group of Brisbane songwriters came together to share their stories of survival through music. What they found was their shared experiences and sharing it through music, had greater healing than much of their collective years of various therapies. It shaped a greater awareness between them all as survivors knowing they were very much not alone.
The group called themselves – You Can’t Take Me.
On May 17 at The Cave Inn, YCTM founders Deb Suckling, Melissa J Evans and Kendall Layt plus many special guests will be reuniting in music to raise much needed funds for Amity Place.
Amity Place is a platform for change providing community connection, awareness, support and advocacy for those affected by domestic and family violence, sexual assault, intimate partner violence, family abuse and relational trauma. Their support and services connect individuals, families and communities for recovery, healing and empowerment for improved health and well-being for all.
The Cave Inn is a safe environment which supports music and conversation in our community. Our communities need to come together in solidarity as domestic and sexual violence continues to be a horrific epidemic in this country.
