Young Adults Volunteer Group

Calling all young adults aged 18-30: Give back to the community to by attending our monthly working group. Join us to promote inclusivity, mental wellbeing, and plan free social events! You will be given free food, guidance for all activities, and meet likeminded young adults. Our volunteer group will meet on the first Saturday afternoon of the month. There is no lock in commitment – you can join us once to see what it is all about and not feel pressured in any way. 

The goal of the Volunteer Group is to support Blue Leaf Initiative’s goal of creating a sustainable and connected community for young adults in Bunbury. Volunteers will collaborate to shape and implement initiatives that foster inclusivity, wellbeing, and engagement among the young adult population, ensuring the organisation’s resilience and impact, regardless of future funding outcomes.

📍 Location: Yallo, Wardandi Country, 135 Norton Promenade, Dalyellup


All these activities are optional, but some tasks may include:

  • Contributing to the planning, organising, and evaluating of events.
  • Respectfully engaging with and supporting participants at our free programs.
  • Engaging with the public at stalls and events to promote Blue Leaf Initiative.
  • Taking photographs and videos at events and engagements for Investing In Our Youth.
  • Set up and pack up of activities.
  • Flyer drops and anything else you would like to be involved with!

Support Provided:

  • All materials and catering provided during meetings and events.
  • Ongoing support from the Program Coordinator and team members.

What to Expect:

When you arrive at Yallo, you will be greeted by a Blue Leaf staff member. You will sign yourself in (Name, age, pronouns) and will be given a name tag/ introduced to the group. You do not need to show any tickets on arrival. There is usually an ice breaker round (optional participation but highly recommended). We have snacks and stim toys available. You can sit wherever you are comfortable and help yourself to food and drinks anytime throughout the meeting. It is an incredibly relaxed environment where all suggestions and questions are welcome!


FAQs

  1. How many people attend? Typically, our volunteer group have anywhere between 7-15 people. There is a mix of all genders.
  2. Can I come by myself? Absolutely! We encourage any and all people to attend – we will make sure you feel welcome!
  3. Can I bring a support worker? For sure. Your support worker does not have to register but they are more than welcome to attend with you.
  4. What food is available? Usually we serve a fruit platter and sushi or pizza. Please include any dietary requirements on your registration if there is anything for us to be aware of.
  5. Do I need to bring anything? You do not need to bring anything.
  6. Is there parking? There is free parking at the venue.
  7. Is there public transport? Bus 843 takes 21 minutes from Bunbury.
  8. Is the venue wheelchair accessible? Yes, it is wheelchair accessible.
  9. What gender are the facilities? There is one all gender bathroom at the venue.
  10. What if I am outside the 18-30 age range? Please get in touch with Bec to discuss this.
