    Event description

Are you 14 to 25 years old and interested to learn more about gardening, cooking, food justice and sustainability?

Join us in the Youth World Food Garden Program - a collaborative journey designed by Just Food Collective and Sustain: the Australian Food Network, and funded by VicHealth’s Jumpstart initiative.

This workshop will focus on food waste and its effects on the environment. We will spend some time gardening and learning how to prepare some delicious pickles and ferments with some of the vegetables planted in our previous workshops.

'Why Waste It?' is the sixth of six workshops in our journey. If you have come across this event before May, you are encouraged to join us for all prior workshops (click here to learn more about the other workshops in the program)

*This program was funded to benefit young people aged 14-25 that have experienced challenges accessing employment or educational opportunities. Participants will receive a stipend of 30 AUD for each workshop attended and may be reimbursed for transport costs if needed.
