Zonta Says No - Canberra Rotary Peace Bell Ringing - 2022
Event description
There have been too many unnecessary deaths of women due to domestic violence this year in Australia.
On Saturday 10 December 2022, the Zonta Club of Canberra Breakfast and the Rotary Club of Canberra Burley Griffin will combine to remember each woman killed this year by striking the Canberra Rotary Peace Bell once for each victim in a moving tribute. The ceremony will also recognise children and men who were victims of domestic violence in 2022.  The 74th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights is also on 10 December 2022. Both the Zonta Canberra Breakfast Club and Rotary Clubs say NO to violence against women as part of the current 16 days of activism.Â
Zonta Canberra Breakfast Club and the Rotary Club of Canberra Burley Griffin invite you to join with us at the Canberra Rotary Peace Bell, Lennox Gardens from 6.30am (for a 7:00am start) on 10 December for this special ringing event to send the loudest message possible against domestic violence in our city – our country – and in the world.
If you would like to donate to the Domestic Violence Crisis Service (DVCS) directly you can do so at dvcs.org.au.
