Digital Safety Workshop: Keeping Ourselves and Others Safe Online
Description
Building safer, more respectful digital communities.
As part of the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence, commUnity+ invites community members to join a free Digital Safety Workshop, delivered by the Alannah & Madeline Foundation and funded by Brimbank City Council.
Digital spaces play an important role in how we connect, learn and communicate. However, they can also present risks, including online harassment, harmful behaviours and threats to privacy and safety.
Creating safer communities means promoting respect, equality and safety both online and offline.
This workshop will help participants build confidence in navigating digital spaces, recognise potential risks and learn practical ways to protect themselves and others.
What will you learn?
Recognise online risks: Understand common and emerging digital safety challenges.
Protect yourself and others: Learn practical strategies to strengthen privacy, security and personal safety online.
Build digital confidence: Develop skills to navigate online spaces safely and responsibly.
Promote respectful online behaviour: Explore how everyday actions can contribute to safer, more inclusive digital communities.
Share and learn: Take part in conversations about creating positive and safer online experiences for individuals and families.
In-language resources will also be available to support community members. These will be available in Arabic and Vietnamese.
