Explore the tactile art of wool felting as you create a small pod, bowl, or sculptural vessel using merino wool, silk, and thread. Learn the basics and discover the creative possibilities of this richly textured craft.

In this workshop, you will create a piece of wool felt in the shape of a small pod or vessel, a bowl, or simply a 3D creative work of art. We will use merino wool, silk and various threads to create a wonderful small pod. You will come away with an understanding of the basic felting process and the endless opportunities to pursue this very tactile craft to create a whole new world of gorgeous felt.

ABOUT YOUR TUTOR
Pamela Mills is a multidisciplinary artist based in Mparntwe / Alice Springs, where she has lived for six years. Since retiring, she has explored a variety of media including textiles, printmaking, basketry, glass, and painting. Felt-making has been a focus for over a decade, using fine merino wool, silks, and other fibres to create vibrant 2D and 3D works. Her art is driven by a love of colour, texture, and playful experimentation. Pamela is passionate about sharing her knowledge of wet felting and inspiring others to discover the creative possibilities of this tactile and expressive medium.
