Advanced bowl workshop with Alex Prentice NEW DATE
Event description
This advanced workshop is for potters that are at the intermediate stage and want to move on to larger bowls using 1.5-2.5 kg of clay. There will be an opportunity to practice altering a bowl’s shape. This workshop will give you an opportunity to work in a friendly and encouraging environment. Demonstrations and explanations will be given throughout, you will have plenty of time to practice the skills and help will be at hand whenever needed
Note: This workshop does not cover trimming your bowls.
About the tutor
Alex Prentice is a highly regarded tutor at Mt Pleasant Pottery group. We are lucky to have Alex regularly teach workshops at Canterbury Potters Association where he shares his knowledge and skills on wheel thrown work.
What to bring
- A bowl that appeals to you.
- At least 4 bats of around 25cm+
- Lots and lots of clay
- A kidney tool
- A trimming tool
- A sponge to remove water from inside the bowl
- A pin tool
- A strip of chamois or plastic
- Slop bucket and water bucket
- Towel to wipe surfaces
