Event description

Join us in Green Square when we welcome Rachel Jackson back to The Book Cow to launch Book 3 in her Solve It Your Way series, Escape from Firestone Fortress. Rachel will bring along some great clues and activities, perfect for fans of dragons and solving riddles and clues as part of our Love Your Bookshop Day celebrations!

ABOUT THE BOOK:

An interactive adventure that places the reader in control of their own destiny - and a dragon! Grand Wizard Dawlish has tasked you - his apprentice - with stealing the firestone of legend from a neighbouring kingdom. Breaking into the fortress is one thing, but escaping with the firestone is a whole new challenge! As the guards close in will you hide in the garden, the blacksmith’s hut or the well? Your choice will hatch the first dragon to live in one thousand years! Escaping from Firestone Fortress, alive, just became a whole lot more complicated, especially as you must forge an alliance with your dragon before it all comes to a fiery end. There are lost dragonian texts to decipher, ancient riddles to solve and spells to be cast as you navigate the dangerous world of dragons as well as your own fledgling magic. There are thirty-eight unique ways to escape and a multitude of dragons to discover. Can you find every dragon hidden within and escape from Firestone Fortress as a dragon master?

The Solve It Your Way books are designed to engage readers 8 to 12 with an interactive adventure as imaginative and individual as they are. The books are full of puzzles, secret codes, brainteasers and riddles that allow the reader to decide what happens next.

Escape from Cuttlefish Cove and Escape from Marigold Manor can be discovered now.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR:

Rachel Jackson draws on her extensive experience as an intelligence specialist to create twisty branching plotlines that challenge the reader to problem solve and develop a toolbox of critical thinking skills. She strives to create stories as unique and fun as her young daughters - to show them that anything is possible, both in the books and in real life!

She’s also a sucker for good puzzles and bad jokes; subject matter that she shares generously with her readers in the Solve It Your Way series published by Riveted Press.

When she’s not scheming up diabolical plots to entertain young readers, Rachel loves to relax with her family and menagerie of horses, llamas and ducks in the green hills of Central West NSW.
