Single Session Framework for Carer Lived Experience Workforce (In-person) 2026
Description
Please note that only Victorian residents and/or workforce are eligible to attend this subsidised workshop.
Carer lived experience peer workers-consultants have been playing an increasingly vital role in the Victorian mental health workforce. Their work is now emerging as an essential element in better outcomes for consumers and their families/carers/supporters.
Single Session Framework for the Carer Lived Experience Workforce (SSF-CLEW) training introduces participants to the principles and practices of the framework, which promotes collaboration/partnership, shared knowledge, and respectful and honest engagement.
This iteration of SSF-CLEW will include working through a trauma sensitive lens based on principles and practices of collaborative/partnership and the connections and shared knowledge of lived experience. It promotes a stance of respectful and honest engagement with carers by creating a process for a mutual, contained and ‘focused trauma sensitive interaction’ through our listening and responding to the carer story, their needs and concerns, as well as the worker’s own exposure to trauma narratives and the importance self-reflective care.
