Event description

You are invited to experience the wonders of Mindful Breathwork- Connecting in a meaningful ways. 9/7/23 10-14 @ Breathing Space Hobart

What is Mindful Breathwork?

There are many forms of breath work and the place of breathing techniques in personal growth has rich traditions that goes back centuries in the east.

Breathwork in this context combines elements of mindfulness and cognitive behaviour therapy (CBT) to create an experiential, body-based intervention intended to facilitate emotional expression in a non-judgmental way, in a safe way.

There is a growing understanding of the involvement of the body in holding trauma, depression and anxiety. Many therapeutic approaches focus solely on the mind to be treated without consideration that the contents of the mind are embodied.

This breathwork component is an active breathing technique done lying down with music, that creates physiological changes in the body including increased serotonin and oxytocin. Individuals commonly experience strong emotion, sensations or thoughts during this process, with high levels of serotonin and oxytocin present, it is experienced with a sense of safety acceptance and wellbeing.

Who does it fit?

As in this technique the Breather (participant) can choose how "deep" they would like to go, it fits almost everyone who wishes to explore the inner world and or feel better in the day to day life. This setting does NOT fit people with epilepsy, astma, pregnant woman or people who should avoid cardio activity. If you have one of the above please DON'T attend this session (a group setting) but one on one with qualified breathwork practitioner.

The last ten years I have been leading workshops around the world of mindfulness and breathwork for trauma recovery and empowerment, in the community, in prisons and in the last 3 years in a clinical trauma recovery center (the psych ward of The North West Private Hospital).
In my spare time I enjoy our young family, keeping bees, making wine and studying and practising kabala (Jewish mysticism).

In September we will run the first Breathers training course around the state.
I feel honoured to have the opportunity to train people how to share their own gifts through Breathwork and Mindfulness.
My aim is to help build the next generation of Mindfulness and Breathwork facilitators for trauma recovery.
I am coming back to Hobart to run a couple of workshops, re-introducing myself and this work, if you are interested in professional training in breathwork and mindfulness, or just want to embark on a journey of self deep exploration, I encourage you to come to this session and check it out.

Looking forward to breathe with you
with appreciation,
