I’m Pete, founder of the Ice House Co.
I come from the harsh stormy weather of Scotland where sunny days are vast and you are constantly in the elements of sub-zero temperatures. As a child I embraced the cold and would go out in the snow in just a t-shirt. I always remember where I lived was in the forest with a log fire going and that euphoric feeling of going from one extreme to the other in temperature and the blood rushing through the veins, full body tingles, dopamine rushing into the brain and the breath travelling to all corners of the body making me feel whole and complete. As I got older, I lost my inner child and my playful side, I lost nature. Depression and anxiety hit, and I lived in a habitual cycle of misery. Then one day I found breathe and cold therapy or maybe it found me but either way I went along to a class, and I went straight back to that wee boy in Scotland away from his thoughts, just present, just being. 

With the breathwork, I will teach you how to stay calm and relaxed, to hyperoxygenate the body for a build of CO2 shown to relax the body, triggering the parasympathetic neural pathways through vagus nerve stimulation, energising us and allowing us to fully utilise our bodies resources. We will then push our fears and go into the bodies extermities by jumping into an icebath at the end of our workshop. It's all within us, we are all capable of extraordinary things. We just need to get back into us.
