Master the essentials of project planning—from defining community impact and budgeting to risk assessment and evaluation—to launch your initiative on time, on budget, and fully funded.
Overview
Every successful program or project is based on great design and loads of planning and the planning of a project takes focus and creativity. So how does one design a project that is successful, on time, on budget and achieves all of the goals set? It’s a big ask when there are limited resources.
This workshop will assist committees to avoid common project plan faults and maximise resources for a better chance of success. It will also help those who apply for grants to have a solid base for including in grant applications, so funders can see everything is ready to go.
Key Skills
The workshop equips participants with practical planning and budgeting abilities and is tailored for community groups. Topics include:
· Defining the project and its benefit to the community
· Creating the project or program plan
· Assessing risk in new programs and determine their viability
· Identifying program opportunity risks
· Building program budgets
· Utilising project management tools
· Understanding the role of evaluations and its importance when managing a project
Please note this workshop will only proceed if minimum numbers are met.

The workshop is aimed at anyone in our community involved in financial planning and budgeting for community groups, including:
· Community group leaders and committee members overseeing local initiatives
· Project managers and coordinators in non-profit or volunteer-run organizations
· Grant writers and fundraising officers aiming to strengthen their applications
· Volunteers and staff responsible for budgeting, risk assessment, or program evaluations
Individual residents or those from local community groups, clubs and not-for-profit groups may register. Please note this workshop is not intended for businesses.
