Do you want a hands-on guided experience on using generative artificial intelligence as a tool to complement your resource development for teaching? If so, this is the perfect face-to-face workshop for you to attend.


Workshop Description

Join us for this hands-on workshop where you'll learn how to leverage generative artificial intelligence (or Gen Ai) to create engaging and customised classroom resources with ease. We'll guide you through using tools like TeacherMatic, Canva Magic Suite, ChatGPT, Claude and more to develop an entire unit of work, including lesson plans, presentations, activities and assessments.

You'll leave with a month's subscription to TeacherMatic to allow you full access to great education-specific generators during the workshop and to continue creating with AI. Places are limited to 25 participants per workshop, so reserve your seat today!

Workshop Agenda

  • Introduction to generative AI and how it can help automate resource creation
  • Demo of tools like TeacherMatic, Canva Magic Suite, Claude etc.
  • Step-by-step guidance on using prompts and fine-tuning outputs
  • Developing a full unit of work: lesson/session plans, presentations, activities, assessments
  • Hands-on practice time to create materials for your classroom
  • Tips for iterating and improving AI-generated content
  • Discussion of ethical use of generative AI
  • Q&A and troubleshooting common issues

What to Bring & Preparation

  • Your own fully charged laptop (smartphones are not suitable), able to install apps, access websites without being blocked, and connect to WiFi
  • We will provide a list of websites to create accounts with the day before the workshop – you will need to access these at the workshop, so creating them beforehand will save you time on the day
  • Your digital literacy skills! You will need to be able to use a web browser, word processor and presentation software, and be able to copy/paste between applications
  • A topic or unit of competency you want to work on!


Note: This workshop won’t be providing you with compliance advice related to assessment design or curriculum interpretation. The focus will be on using the technology.
